Have you tried ubuntu before? If yes, what did you think of it, did you like it, did you switch back to windows or switch from windows to ubuntu for good?
I've given it a try twice.. and I just don't like it at all compared to windows (thats right ) and os x. Thats just my opinion since its not too user friendly, fonts annoyed the hell out of me, and the driver issues as well. I just stuck with vista instead

You just need more patience then you can get a lot more from the OS itself. You will learn more than you wouldn't think you do.
I have been in linux for about half an year. And I like it. Although there are some frustrations from time to time, the frustration will always washed away by new discovery and new alternatives. In linux there is no word "limit" in the dictionary. You just need to give it time.

im lovin it ^_^ always will. ive tried about every alternative Operating System out there (including OS X, i finally downloaded iAtkos and it worked flawlessly on my desktop ) and non of them compare to my happiness when i boot into linux. sure, linux isnt the most beautiful thing right off the bat (well, fedora is stunningly beautiful with its Nakoda thingy) and maybe not the most satisfying right away, but it makes up for ALL of that in a few days time by offering you (or at least me) an endless amount of possibilities which range from learning the operating system core, how it works, what its doing, to actually compiling a kernel, modify parts of the system, optimizing to the extreme, and a plethora of amazing technical support and applications.

Well, Its much faster than any OS I've tried till now"I mean the fastest!", but I didnt get along with it sisnce it dont deal with FAT32 and it's not userfriendly as said be4, but I cant say it's bad or good, I tried it for only 5 days, and re-installed Vista instead so I can get access to my D Hard disk! If they asked me what U love most? I'll tell the the "D"!!! (hey man is it kind of food?) ya for me it's food, so with Ubuntu that cant open this "D" I can say it sucks...
Thanks for the topic Alex

I have been using ubuntu for around 2 months now.. and im absolutely in love with it.. I have both Ubuntu and Windows Vista installed on my laptop *Vaio VGN FE31H* yet, ubuntu is everything for me.. its ultra fast, it has all the programs i need.. and it takes advantage of my dual cure system to the max.. and at times there may be faults.. but when you overcome them you appreciate the system so much more..
Yet its not for children.. id say you have to be in late teens and the minimum.. or extremely mature.. otherwise youll generally mess up.. and type in a comand into terminal which will *accidently* wipe your drive.. etc
xD

me + computer commands = epic disaster As long as you don't do too much with root access you shouldn't break anything
