Subject: I needz major help. March 27th 2009, 2:27 pm |

Okay, where to begin. So I recently purchased another 500GB SATA drive for my computer which I want to RAID. So I have been tinkering around and I notice my chipset (ICH9DH) can support AHCI and no RAID apparently. But other sources say I can raid. So I did a scan and the Sata mode is in IDE, when I change to AHCI, vista blue screens on boot. So I updated the intel matrix manager and still no luck, so I'm just wondering if anyone knows what I'm doing wrong?
I enabled legacy mode in the BIOS, but I think I'll disable it again, since not all SATA features can be used, or so I hear. Any help is greatly appreciated. ^_^

what features of SATA are you looking to use tho? legacy mode might be exactly what you need depending on you MOBO.

Hmm, this is were I get lost . I'm trying to set up a RAID 0 config, but it seems I cannot without doing something with the intel matrix software.

what MOBO are you using and what chipset? (running dxdiag from the run dialog in windows is the easiest way to find that)
you plugged in everything correctly? and you made sure that you didnt plug the main OS drive in the middle of the HDD cord? it has to be at the very end and then progressively inward. toward the board

I just use CPU-Z, I wasn't aware dxdiag listed the motherboard, Microstar MS-7502 and I listed the chipset in the first post. As for the plugs, I think i just used the next closest socket to the current HDD but I'll go check it.
Thanks for the support though Alex .

after a quick google session of your mother board (btw microstar doesnt seem to have a website T_T) i couldnt find anything on it lol. but some people have trouble with Oblivion TCS with it using SATA drives
