wait, i'm downloading the latest build of windows 7 (betas) ... they say it's 20 times better than build 7000 or 7022.. this 7048 build is the last beta so it's considered a Pre-RC version

Have you guys seen the icons in the latest 7 betas? They look like they were made by a 10 year old

i do no really care what icons are used , just want to experience a new operative system, that actually works good with CS1.6 at least.... as vista for me gave me to many breaks and fps drops :\

i think that doesn't exist.. 7048 was compiled in 19 February, the next official "build" is the RC1

I'm disappointed with Windows personally. Win 7 is obviously better than vista and xp, but I think microsoft could have done more, or they should make this an "upgrade" OS meaning its priced less. There are only minor changes in usability, but at least they made some big changes under the hood

@rui: liesss!
@sbux: personally its deffinantly more usable but i would love extremely for there to be a way to have the XP start menu back. Though the win 7 menu vs Vista is diffinantly a win for win 7. there are smaller amazing things that make it hell of a lot better than the vista. the taskbar is amazing and works like a charm im actually really happy with Microsoft at the moment especially with the powershell and then the new kernel prevents all of the crashes i had with vista. DX11 is something i cant wait for either with x.org refusing to detect my mouse i cant watch Arrested Development in a graphical shell its a hell of a lot faster than vista as well xD now MS just needs a decent instant messaging application by default and a tad better file manager (which btw explorer.exe already uses about only 2/3 of the memory that it used to) which is also btw much better in win 7 compared to vista. And the libraries thing, which some people dont like, is something i tottally love now that ive gotten to using it. Its about as handy as having a whole dvd box set
ill stop typing now

You just got me there with the DX11 alxm THAT is one place where microsoft has a total win .
Obviously, windows is by far the best for gaming and great graphics

Lol, i was pleased with the 7000 build, but reviews in a pc mag, they said preformance wise, it wasn't any better then vista, just slightly faster. I think MS still have a few things to sort out in terms of building a new framework for its OS, but win7 seems to be a step in the right direction.

@sbux: but remember DX11 isnt an FPS booster, it just lets you do more with the FPS you already have
@stezz: on vista my computers rating thing is 3.4 and on win 7 its 4.1 plus my friends computer running with a 9800 GTS nvidia card with sli and DDR3 on vista is slower than my computer with DDR2 and a 8600 GTS nvidia card

Hardware detection is another win win in windows 7. On vista I needed to download a bunch of stuff to get it working normally, windows 7, it was pretty much out of the box

Yeah I must say that too, vista didn't detect my graphics card at first boot, worked oob with windows 7. I might try and 'find' this version of the beta
