Well, more surprising than ever, forumotion has decided to include Invision Forums (IPB) as a part of its hosting. I'm tied on what to do, move to DeskVibe or stay here?

Hmmm I agree with lbroskee for the most part but it depends if you think using the Vanilla forum software is THAT much more important

I've not been a member here long, but I'd say stick with this. Deskvibe is good, but I feel that with such a big member base (granted not everyone may be active), you'd do more harm than good. For example, when I used to mod my PC a few years ago, I had an aqua-soft account (2004), and 4 years later I got back into it still able to go back to that same site. Just my opinion anyway.

I'm down for staying here, more people know about this site than deskvibe. But damn we need a skin for this site haha

The only thing I like about DeskVibe is the name You've put time into this forum... one of the friendliest atmospheres around. DeskVibe just doesn't fit the glove I'd like to stay at GalaxyGui

I'm seeing that people are feeling very attached to this forum, if that's the case then we will stay . Right now its a 2:1 ratio

There has been a majority decision to stick with Galaxy GUI. I'll listen to you guys and keep Galaxy GUI. DeskVibe will be something else

you guys seriously need to decide what you want to do and stick with it. you are ruining your chances of being successful. everytime you change your mind, or change the look of the site etc, you turn users off. people dont like change like that, if you want people to join and stick around and feel like they belong to a community, things need to feel familiar and stable.

Agreed. There are many things done with this forum that are much too out in the open. A lot more discussions that are relative to the future/activity/running of the forums need to be kept in a private section until you have a firm idea of what you actually want to do. This fannying around confuses, annoys, and pushes users away. Think about what you're going to do and discuss it with other members of staff, getting their ideas and feelings on the idea. Once all of the staff are happy with it, set out a detailed, informative thread of what you're intending to do. Then get the forum's users' feelings/ideas/feedback/etc. of the idea. Once the users (or at least the majority of them) are happy with what's gonna happen - go ahead and do it.

yeah, i went there to post some icons and its not even forums anymore. they asked some of us to help fill those forums up, and give it a kick start, and now its just gone. what a waste of my time all that was. and no one even tells us whats going on. and when i came here the other day, it was a totally different huge white design. how annoying. you get used to something, then for no good reason its gone and youve totally lost your barrings. im glad its back to normal now, but it doesnt give me much confidence that it will stay that way.
