The latest update I've almost completed so far, features a load of web 2.0 features. here are some main points:
SnapShots
You can now get a preview of the website you are going to by rolling over a link. Example: Google (put your mouse over google)
Social Bookmarking
You can now instantly digg, bookmark, add to myspace, del.icio.us, etc by clicking the Share button in the header of the site.
Feedburner
All RSS Feeds have now been converted to be with Feedburner, much easier and simpler to get updates. Check it out here:
Portal
A portal page has been added. What makes it unique, is that users may submit their own articles to the front page. If you would like to submit one, PM a moderator or administrator and they, after editing and looking over it, will post in. VIP (Exclusive Release) Members have the option of posting articles themselves without having to contact staff!
Other Various Fixes
- Desktop screenshots moved to GUI Discussion and Requests - New footer coming soon - All problems with New Posts should be fixed if you login through the galaxygui.forumotion.com url or through the quick login in the header! - Background changed to a 20px vertical tiling one compared to the old 9000px one - PM and Profile buttons swapped - Joined date moved under user info (from, OS)
MORE TO COME!

I'm taking an entire web 2.0 approach to the site (if you notice there were 30 users online today at the same time, breaking the old record)
If you find anything interesting, click the share button and digg it, stumble it, delicious, reddit, etc

take the snapshot thing off. A lot of people consider that spam, as do i. It has an ass load of advertising. i serously think u should take it off... also, whats with the lack of consultation of the other staff members on this eh?

Mmm, I was bit like "huh?" when I seen that plug in. Its a bit pointless and could annoy people.

At first I was wondering what people were on about but I noticed my NoScript plugin was blocking it :x. Unblocked the script but I've since turned the option off as well

haha, why would it drive someone away, what a coincidence... ads ALL over sites keep people but this drives them away!

I don't think it's as intrusive as the one's where you hover over a word which has a bubble with an advertisment pop-up

Update: I've made it ABSOLUTELY unintrusive now. Instead of it popping up when you hover over a link, you acually have to hover over the snapshot icon (the little message) . This way people who don't want them don't have to have it popup

for the portal posting... maybe for the "download" link, set that to the original post that contains the download link... so non-members don't leech from the portal
