Web 2.0 Design

I'm gonna need the community's help on this one and especially the staff's thumbs up

I'm planning on doing a complete web 2.0 design of the forums. This would include glossy effects, bright "happy" colors and a few shadows tongue

. Feel free to tell me what you would like to see or go against an idea someone suggests wink

Plans so far

- Brighter Colors
- Less dropshadow on background and 1px border instead of 2px
- A recolorization of the pattern on the background to match the new forums bg (might be blue with same stripes pattern just to brighten/lively up things (striped)
- New tablerow headers that look web 2.0ish
- New GGUI Welcome avatar on index box
- New Favicon
- I'm gonna try to add a few mods if possible as well

What are you're guys's thoughts? I know its ANOTHER redesign and you're probably just like wtf, but I want this site to stand out somehow, so I want us to be updated to the latest trend of website looks, which is the web 2.0 style

Can anyone help make certain things? I cant do this myself!

I don't have a problem with the blue, but CHANGE THE FONT COLOUR! confused

CAN'T SEE ANYTHING, FINISH THE THEME PLEEEEEEAAAAASE.
Sorry bout the caps for future readers who aren't seeing the horrible contrast.

But in way of a blue theme I can see it working, it would definitely allow for better contrasting than gray-on-black and allow you to define aspects of the website whilst making it appear like a happy community.

EDIT: muchly appreciate the font colour change!

dude, test this out on another test forum first! haha... we might need to get tron to donate some to that one for HTML tongue

at least then this one wont look like crap for the time being (even if it is in the middle of the night) also, i just finished doing a bunch of stuff with Web 2.0 for a website for CEFPAK (a company :O) so i might be of some use now happy

The blue is awful, can't see anything anymore. Please change the font color at least.
I personally loved the prevous design, I think you should have kept that one

i agree. im a newbie, when i first came here i was like 'FINALLY a slick looking gui site!'
though, i do wish i could view it on my ipod touch....it freezes it.

what's going on with this weird theme? can nothing be done about this blue? i mean if we want blue then ok.. but it would have to be a different font color.. cause this aint working... can't you just change this blue back to the recular color until whatever is being done gets sorted out... i hope so, or it's really gonna turn people off of the site.. especially new/potential members. :undecided:

doesnt anyone have access to the theme? just get rid of all these in the stylesheet and it will at least be readable again

yeah, i changed it for a while to white text so at least it was readable... now its back so its chill

Someone just needs to adjust the overall board font color, then it would be fine until the full new theme is finished.

it would be easier to get rid of the three or so instances of the background image i posted. they shouldnt be using a bg image for a simple color change anyways, just set background color. that way its not loading a gigantic bg image in every tiny table cell. they would have to change the font color in a zillion different places for text everywhere to be readable.
