Does anyone here have any ideas for a "happy holidays" banner for Galaxy GUI?
Post your creations and it might be used on the site! Hope to see what you guys come up with!! To add some flavor to this, the person who designs the best banner will receive a special gift from us! happy

Rules

Banner must be 800x150px
Has to have a holiday related theme

ya b/c multiple holidays try 2 make 1 jus seasonal...no religious stuff. use these ideas (thanksgiving, winter...lik snow and stuff, and new years)

Sure ,but i'm not a big fan of the "H" with this font.

Hmm, doesn't look too bad. Can you also make a swf file out of that? I could use it in place of an image happy

I'm New From : Yorkshire OS : Vista Ultimate, Win 7.

Being honest, a flash banner like above, ie. Moving content. Is too distracting from the website.

A banner is an important feature, and should catch attention from users, but it shouldn't grab there attention when they're attemping to view the site's content.

(may I have the PSD from the actual banner, to design a holiday one.)

I added the snow because the banner felt simple ,but I agree with you I see how it could be distracting.

Nah I want it for the text.

I did a quick mockup with the text having been cut out, and the 'Happy Holidays' could really do with improving - but I'm unsure how.
